1948 Born in Futsuhara, Ariake-cho, So-gun
1967 Graduated from the Kagoshima Prefectural Kanoya Agricultural High School. Succeeded his family business.
1975 Started work on the first factory. At this time, he aimed to expand the tea plantation to 10 hectares.
1982 Experienced catastrophic damage overnight due to a big late frost. It was an expensive but valuable lesson.
1988 Established Kagoshima Horiguchi Seicha Co., Ltd., tea manufacturer, and Wakohen Co., Ltd. for tea sales.
1995 Established the second factory.
2003 Developed a vehicular cheesecloth winder (3-jo type)
2004 Developed a high pressure sprinkler machine for pest control.
2005 Acquired ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 simultaneously.
2006 Established the third factory (the Tea Dome).
2006 Won major award for shining in business management from the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Finance Corporation
2007 Constructed the Wakohen main store.
2007 Received the Minami Nippon Economy Award.
2008 Started using the Hurricane King, a pest extermination machine that utilizes wind pressure and water pressure
2009 Research and development of lactic acid bacteria from fermented tea leaves for fertilizer
2009 Received the Kyushu IT Management Power Special Award.
2014 Received the highest award at the 10th National Tea Cuisine Contest
2015 Started using the Steam Buster SL, a steam weeding machine.
2015 Constructed the Tea Plantation Forest House.

120 hectares of farms are under direct management, and 100 hectares are contracted farms. Also, along the highway (Ariake-cho, Harada), the largest green tea factory in Japan was constructed. Furthermore, the Wakohen main store was built in front of the factory.
